Daniel Comeskey (Director)

Key Skills

Background

Event management - From concept to reality, Daniel was instrumental in sourcing and resurrecting the now highly successful UnitedNetworks Wellington Round the Bays. The event has grown to over 8,000 participants in the five years since its re-introduction and continues to show strong growth patterns as more people take up the challenge each year.

The NewstalkZB Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards dinner is another of Daniel’s successes over the past seven years. Formally run by a committee of volunteers, this event was managed by Daniel from 1997-2003, in which time attendance numbers doubled to sell out crowds of over 500 guests per year. All thirteen trophy categories are sponsored by local businesses from a range of Media, Electricity, Beverage and Information Technology organisations. The funds raised from this event have also doubled over this time.

Daniel ensured that the current sponsors & supporters brands were handled, displayed and promoted carefully to ensure strong event branding and public awareness so that their brands weren’t diluted in the mix.
